HEC-RAS
The world's most used hydraulic model: free 1D/2D river analysis, sediment, water quality and flood mapping.
Python automation for HEC-RAS 6.x: batch runs, parallel execution and HDF results extraction.
Install
pip install ras-commanderRAS Commander (ras-commander) is a Python library for driving modern HEC-RAS from code: open projects, clone and edit plans, launch runs — including parallel execution across plans and multiple RAS versions — and pull geometry and results straight out of the HDF5 files into pandas and GeoDataFrames.
It targets the workflows consultants actually repeat: calibration sweeps, event batches, scenario matrices and QA extraction. Built for RAS 6.x's HDF-based architecture rather than the legacy COM controller, it is one of the most active projects in the RAS-automation space.
