About MatSWMM

MatSWMM wraps the SWMM engine for co-simulation from MATLAB, Python and LabVIEW: step the model in time, read system states, and apply control actions — the loop that real-time-control research needs. It came out of the Riaño-Briceño et al. work on RTC of urban drainage and has been cited widely in the smart-stormwater literature.

Development has been quiet for years and PySWMM now covers the same ground with more momentum, but for MATLAB/Simulink-centric control groups MatSWMM remains the established bridge — and the published benchmark many RTC papers still reference.
