HEC-RAS
The world's most used hydraulic model: free 1D/2D river analysis, sediment, water quality and flood mapping.
DHI's unified platform for rivers, urban drainage and distribution networks — successor to MIKE 11/MIKE URBAN.
by DHI
MIKE+ consolidated DHI's classic engines — MIKE 11 river hydraulics, MOUSE urban drainage, and water distribution — into one GIS-integrated platform. It models 1D rivers with structures and control, sewer and stormwater networks, 2D overland flow coupled to both, and pressurised distribution, with strong real-time-control and long-term-simulation capability.
In regions where DHI tooling is the review standard (much of Europe, Asia and beyond), MIKE+ is the incumbent. It is premium-priced commercial software; its practical open competitors are HEC-RAS on the river side and SWMM-based stacks on the urban side.
