About HyRiver

HyRiver is a family of Python packages (PyNHD, PyGeoHydro, Py3DEP, PyDaymet and siblings) that together cover the US hydrology data landscape: NHDPlus river networks and navigation, USGS gauges, 3DEP elevation, soils, land cover, and Daymet/GridMET climate forcing — all returned as GeoPandas/xarray objects ready for analysis.

The value is the composition: delineate from NHDPlus, attach gauges, pull DEM and forcing for the basin — one coherent scripted workflow. For US-focused Python hydrology it has become the data-access layer of choice.
