AquiferTest is a desktop application for analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing hydrogeological test data. It imports time-drawdown and discharge data directly from water-level loggers, ASCII, or Excel files, applying standard analytical solutions such as Theis, Cooper-Jacob, Hantush-Jacob, Neuman, Hvorslev, and Bouwer-Rice to estimate transmissivity, storativity, and hydraulic conductivity. The software supports pumping tests, slug tests, step-drawdown tests, and Lugeon packer tests across confined, unconfined, leaky, and fractured aquifer systems, incorporating derivative diagnostic plots, barometric compensation, and drawdown contouring.
Hydrogeologists and environmental engineers reach for AquiferTest when evaluating well yields, estimating aquifer parameters for groundwater models, or preparing regulatory compliance reports. Its automated curve matching, diagnostic derivative analysis, and customizable report generation streamline test interpretation compared to manual spreadsheet calculations. However, it is a proprietary commercial Windows-only desktop program, and advanced features such as multi-layer aquifer analysis and derivative diagnostics require the higher-tier Pro license.
